In the peaceful afternoon, we will slowly explore the Sekonyer River in search of primates. The traditional Klotok is a traditional two-storeyed wooden river boat equipped with inboard or outboard motor, and is specially built to navigate through shallow waters and narrow sections of the river. The friendly boat crew consists of Capitan, cook and tour guide. The Klotok is very simple but equipped with mattress with blankets, pillows and mosquito nets. A very basic toilet is located at the back of the boat.

Day 2Tanjung Puting

With a private Klotok for the entire tour, you are free to decide what time you would like to depart in the morning and the itinerary is flexible.

You can explore the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre of Pondok Tanguy, to witness the feeding time of the new ex-captive orangutans. Or you can journey up the creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rainforest. At the Camp Leakey you will have the opportunity to walk in the rainforest with your guide and spot a variety of wildlife such as orangutans, gibbons, macaque and birds.

In the afternoon you can visit the feeding station to see the feeding time of the rehabilitated orangutans. Before dusk return to the Klotok.
