Sumilon Island

Cuartel is a structure built during the Spanish era to house the Spanish troops that were assigned in Oslob, however, when the Americans came, the Spaniards left and the construction was terminated leaving the building unfinished until now.

Despite the years that have passed, the unfinished barracks which was built with thick coral blocks still remained intact after enduring the war that came next and natural phenomena such as earthquakes and the frequent typhoons.

This old barracks have become a main attraction that have charmed and captivated many tourists, and made the area a great pick for picture taking.

Church of Immaculate Conception

The Parish Church of Immaculate Conception in Oslob has suffered and survived fire damages during the Japanee occupation in 1942, and two more incidents in years 1955 and 2008. Despite these, the church have retained its natural beauty, and the aesthetic feature of its exterior-materials of which had to battle time in since the time it was built. This is a great place for picture taking with friends or, of course, to atted masses.


Baluarte is one of the seven (7) fortified watch towers which were installed along the coastline of Oslob as a defensive infrastructure against the Moros who have been attacking the area. In 1815, the effectivity of Baluarte was tested and proved to be effective when a group of offensive pirates was successfully repelled and never dared to come back to the island.

Today, Baluarte serves as a historic centerpiece on a lovely bay side park. It have captivated many tourists and now serves as subject for many photographers and in group photos as well.


Oslob is in Cebu Island. If you are in Cebu city you can reach Oslob by bus or private vehicle. Travel time is about 3 hours.

If you are going to Oslob from Bohol, then you need to take a ferry to Cebu.

If you’re from Dumaguete City you can take a ferry from Sibulan Port to Liloan Port in Cebu From there, continue by bus or private vehicle to Oslob.


Preferably go there weekdays when there’s not much crowd.
